Daniel Island is a large island located 3 miles north of the Charleston Harbor between the Cooper and Wando Rivers. It began as a a planned community in 1995 and continues today. Daniel Island offers its residents a quaint town-like atmosphere that is thriving and growing where people live, work, learn and play. The community is served by Berkeley County School District, with an elementary/middle school onsite, Daniel Island School, serving kindergarten through 8th grade. Older children attend Hanahan High School or the parochial high school in the Charleston area which is located on Daniel Island, Bishop England High School.
